چکیده

Estuaries are submitted to a natural filling caused by the settling of cohesive sediments ( < 63 μm). Those sediments, coming mostly from the sea, are transported in estuaries by the tidal currents during ebb and flood flows. During slack water, fluid velocities vanish and particles are no more suspended by turbulent dispersion. Sediment particles settle towards the bottom, and then deposit on the bed and consolidate. Those particles could be resuspended by erosion when velocities are maximal. Flocculation processes (aggregation), erosion, deposition and compaction are major phenomena that must be considered for an accurate prediction of long term behaviour of estuarine sedimentary dynamics.

MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF THE EFFECT OF FOAM DEGRADATION ON MOULD FILLING IN THE GREY IRON EPC PROCESS

In this investigation a new model was developed to calculate gas pressure at the melt/foam interface (Gap) resulting from foam degradation during mould filling in the Lost Foam Casting (LFC) process. Different aspects of the process, such as foam degradation, gas elimination, transient mass, heat transfer, and permeability of the refractory coating were incorporated into this model. A Computati...

APPLICATION OF THE SINGULAR BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEM FOR INVESTIGATION OF PISTON DYNAMICS UNDER POLYTROPIC EXPANSION PROCESS

In this paper a mathematical simulation of a simplified internal combustion engine is presented. To contribute engine kinematics and its geometry, simple relations are derived for constrained motions. The equation of motion for the piston forms a singular boundary value problem. The uniqueness of the solution was studied in the Banach space. For solving governing equations an iterative numerica...

Proposing A stochastic model for spread of corona virus dynamics in Nigeria

The emergence of corona virus (COVID-19) has create a great public concern as the outbreak is still ongoing and government are taking actions such as holiday extension, travel restriction, temporary closure of public work place, borders, schools, quarantine/isolation, social distancing and so on. To mitigate the spread, we proposed and analyzed a stochastic model for the continue spread of coro...

Modelling the Dynamics of Human Resources Capacity in Health Care Services A Case Study of Khatam-al-Anbia Hospital of Mashhad

Background: In service organizations such as hospitals, human resources (HR) play a key role in the quality of service delivery. Lack of a systemic attitude in terms of system dynamics, HR planning have been somewhat distant from reality. In order to solve such a problem, this study aimed to modeling the dynamics of human resources capacity management system in healthcare services.   Material...

Dynamic modelling of hardness changes of aluminium nanostructure during mechanical ball milling process

In this research, the feasibility of using mathematical modelling in the ball milling process has been evaluated to verify the hardness changes of an aluminium nanostructure. Considering the model of normal force displacement (NFD), the radius of elastic-plastic and normal displacement of two balls were computed by applying analytical modelling and coding in MATLAB. Properties of balls and alum...
